WHY TRANSITION STATE?
Everywhere I go I get to hear about the breathtaking innovations of chemists. Many of them share with me that they are thinking seriously about starting a company, but far fewer are confident that they know what to do next. I would like to share my enthusiasm for problem-solving and the lessons I have learned during my entrepreneurial experiences to help others navigate the important steps between idea and launch.
Matt has spent more than 25 years in the pharmaceutical and allied health industry. Driven by restless curiosity Matt has been engaged in the development of new manufacturing technologies for biologic and chemical therapeutics throughout his career. A motivation to reduce the environmental impact chemical manufacturing using continuous manufacturing led to the chemical technology firm Snapdragon Chemistry. Matt led Snapdragon as President and CEO from 2015 through its acquisition in January 2023 by Cambrex Corporation. As a seasoned chemist – entrepreneur, Matt wants to help other scientists working on environmentally important solutions succeed in launching their ideas.

WHY TRANSITION STATE?
The environmental problems facing the planet today are problems of chemistry. Chemists are uniquely skilled to provide solutions. But these solutions will only be impactful if they can be successfully commercialized. Unfortunately, there are large barriers to entry for chemical entrepreneurs. TSP can help lower the barriers – i.e. reduce the activation energy – to the successful commercial launch of these solutions. Through mentoring entrepreneurs and connecting them to resources, TSP can lower the barriers and increase the odds of success.
TSP was founded by scientist entrepreneurs with the mission of helping other scientist entrepreneurs build successful companies. We understand the science and we know what it takes to build a successful company.
